What We Do

As a World Class Organization, Liberty Lutheran Services commits its resources to a number of programs that benefit our local, regional and state communities. Liberty sponsors the work of Lutheran Disaster Response, restoring lives following disaster by training volunteers locally and regionally and working with congregations throughout Southeast Pennsylvania on disaster preparedness. Core Competency Training provides our staff with knowledge and instruction on the ten core competencies that will ensure quality care for our clients and residents and guarantee that our customer services standards are met consistently. This unique training has been featured at national and state conferences and has gained growing recognition by other agencies. The Gathering is an example of how Liberty is seeking ways to fulfill the needs of more individuals by creating programs and services that are both innovative and creative. Lutheran Disaster Response

In Southeastern Pennsylvania , the Lutheran Disaster Reponse (LDR) task force operates as part of Liberty Lutheran Services. Nationally, over 30 Lutheran organizations work to support each other, but each carries out the LDR mission in its own way.

The core elements of our mission are volunteer training, mission trips and congregational preparedness. We strive to respond to emergency situations both immediately and during the complete aftermath of rebuilding, which can take years. Individuals from Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware counties work together to decide initiatives and support the efforts of those working with LDR to prepare and respond to disasters.

Core Competency Training is an organizational development tool that is used by Liberty Lutheran Services to instill the values of exceptional and ethical service in all employees.
