Disaster Preparedness Camp Come learn about God’s faithfulness through the tools God gives us for resilience. Adults and children (ages 8 and up) are invited to a special disaster preparedness camp at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Devon, PA!
Lutherans have a long history of traveling near and far to aid in disaster. Many have come back to Southeastern Pennsylvania understanding the importance of preparedness for ourselves, our families, our churches and our communities. Experienced disaster workers will help us explore how our connectedness and relationships help shape disaster response. We’ll build resiliency by building community and by learning some hands on skills. There will be stories from the Bible, problem solving activities and most importantly, time to relax and have fun!
The camp will be held from Friday, August 14th, through Sunday, August 16th. Please consult the flyer below for information about times and how to register. See you there!

February 2009 Ocean Springs Service Trip From Feb 7-14, 2009, 58 people from 10 Southeast Pennsylvania Lutheran churches traveled to Ocean Springs, MS for Gulf Coast rebuilding. The opportunities to get to know each other through sharing experiences, fun, and meals, and in planning devotions, worship, and work, will with faith serve us well at home. Many of us asked critical questions regarding the implications of the March 1, 2009 deadline to move out of temporary housing to who knows where for many people...others of us are continuing to advocate on behalf of our brothers and sisters on the Gulf Coast.
Congregations represented on this trip include:
Advent Lutheran, Harleysville
Christ Lutheran, Upper Darby
St. James Lutheran, Philadelphia
St. John’s Lutheran, Sumneytown
St. Mark’s Lutheran, Conshohocken
St. Mark’s Lutheran, Pennsburg
St. Paul’s Lutheran, Telford
St. Matthew’s, Chester Springs
Trinity Lutheran, Fairview Village
Trinity Lutheran, Lansdale
THANK YOU to all who took the time to venture together on this trip!
