Volunteer
We welcome your conversation and ideas about how individuals and groups, such as youth and mission teams from congregations and community organizations, can get involved with the ministries of Liberty Lutheran. Many of our programs also work with local colleges and universities to provide internship and work study programs for students.

Leadership Positions
Activity Program Coordinator, West Philadelphia Senior Center: 20 hours/month for one year.
Refugee Housing Networker Coordinator: 2-4 hours/month, ongoing.
One-on-One Visitation Coordinator, Paul’s Run Retirement Community: 7 hours/week, ongoing.
Community Outreach Leader, Liberty at Home: ongoing.
Newsletter Editor, Best Out Of School Time (BOOST) Program: 3-4 hours/week, ongoing.
Volunteer Coordinator, Becoming Center: 2-4 hours/month, ongoing.
Group Counselor, Olney Senior Center: 1 hour/week, ongoing.
Opportunities for Individuals
Pauls Run Retirement Community and Artman Lutheran Home: Patient visitation, assisting or leading activities for residents, working with small groups.
Lutheran Disaster Response: Quilt making, participate as part of a mission team for rebuilding or participate as part of a Camp Noah team. Camp Noah is a camp for children who have been through disasters.
Visitation Ministry: Work with chaplains at Artman Lutheran Home and Paul’s Run Retirement Community.
Olney Senior Center and West Philadelphia Senior Center: Assisting/leading activities such as Bingo, billiards, gardening or other clubs.
West Philadelphia and Lancaster: Mentoring, Tutoring, Visiting, and Gathering Resources, Driving, or Providing Health Services as part of Refugee Resettlement services.
Lutheran Children and Family Service: Youth Mentoring
Liberty at Home: Visiting seniors, clerical work.
Liberty Lutheran Foundation: Clerical work.
Lutheran Congregational Services, Allentown and Easton: Receiving, staging, and distributing products to Thrift centers.
The Liberty Family of Services: Fundraising support.
Opportunities for Groups
Lutheran Children and Family Service Refugee Resettlement Program: Groups are needed to create home kits to furnish homes for newly arriving refugees. Groups can choose one room to collect items specific to that room, or they can choose to furnish multiple rooms for one family. Groups work together to collect, assemble, and deliver boxes.
Artman Lutheran Home: Groups can visit residents for conversation, assist residents in getting to activities, and/or can bring their own photos/music/instruments, etc. to entertain residents. Many creative opportunities exist.
Paul’s Run Retirement Community: Groups can pick a month and host a birthday party or other celebration for that particular month. There are also opportunities to visit with residents and help with regular activities.
Warehouse Ministry: Groups can help with organizing and distributing high quality donated items to reception centers around the region.
Lutheran Disaster Response: Mission teams are wanted for response to flooding and other natural disasters in Tennessee, Rhode Island, Mississippi, Louisiana, and more. Camp Noah teams of camp counselors are needed to run disaster camps in areas that have been affected by disasters.
