Professional Development

Since 2004, this 10-session training program has been providing our staff with a significant educational experience that centers on the organization's most valued behaviors.

Prompted by Liberty’s desire to provide a higher level of inspired care, each monthly 8-hour segment addresses the organization's core competencies:

  • Caring and Compassion
  • Communication and Listening
  • Financial Responsibility
  • Customer Service
  • Integrity and Trust
  • Job Skills
  • Leadership
  • Outcome Orientation
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Team Orientation

The training groups cover all of the organizations, giving participants the opportunity to learn with and from their colleagues. Training modules provide life-affirming experiences for participants as well as segments devoted to management topics such as time management, performance appraisals and finance.

  • Core Competency Training brings the organization's mission, vision and values out of the standard organizational culture and transforms them into the best ways to model these critical and valued behaviors. This effective training has been utilized by national and state affiliated organizations of Leading Age and Lutheran Services of America, among many others.
  • World Class University (WCU) is an abbreviated version of Core Competency. It is offered to front line and direct care staff across the Liberty organization. The shorter curriculum of WCU places a special focus on Customer Service.

As Director of Employee Engagement Training, Christopher Ridenhour provokes Liberty employees to consider how interpersonal relationships impact our customer service and organizational culture initiatives. Participants walk away with strategies and techniques that increase employee engagement, accountability, and passion from both front line staff as well as Liberty’s leadership team. Among his areas of expertise: change management, team building, diversity education, career rejuvenation, and staff competency development. Christopher has also presented both nationally and locally to appreciative and energized conference audiences.
