Dear Friends,
As I reflect on this past year, I am mindful of the blessings
of abundance that have been bestowed on Liberty
Lutheran Services. We have been given many exciting new
opportunities to serve a greater number of people which,
in turn, have led us into new partnerships and ventures.
During this past year, we have expanded the availability
of services for people in their own homes; collaborated with
others to ensure that kids will be safe from the growing
threat of violence; that our seniors will have more choice
and continued compassionate care; and that our staff,
community and clients will have access to a myriad of
wellness programs for optimal health at all stages of life.
In our quest to be a world-class organization, we have
made significant progress in our leadership as a faithbased
community and in our commitment to innovation -
characteristics that continue to be Liberty’s cornerstone
for excellence. We continue to be good stewards of the
funds entrusted to us for services provided and, especially,
of contributions from special friends like you.
This Annual Report issue of At Liberty features several
of the hallmarks of accomplishment of this past year.
Read about the West Philadelphia Senior Center and the
programs that bring health and vitality to seniors; learn
how Wellness Works provides health education and innovative
support to our Liberty staff; and how Liberty At Home
continues to grow throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Each of these stories demonstrates how Liberty is making
a difference in the lives of many.
We give thanks to you for helping us become more
involved in the community, strengthened and enabled
by our faith, and better equipped to meet the needs of
tomorrow. With these blessings ever present in our minds,
our future, marked by God’s continual watch, is exciting
and will surely produce new collaborations of care in
our new year.
Sincerely,
Luanne B. Fisher, PhD, NHA
President and CEO
